I’ve had a few emails from people asking me to record separately the “talks” which have been showing up at the end of my most recent podcasts, for those who lack the time or the inclination to endure the Liturgy of the Hours.
When I have time to do two recordings in a day, I’ll be happy to comply with that request. Today, I happen to have enough time, so, here is a talk about the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, and how we can apply some of the ideas from that feast into our daily lives.
If you’re in a reading, rather than listening mood, you’ll find pieces of that recording in this post and this one, which also talks a little about St. Bernadette Soubirous, and contains a photo of the incorruptible visionary of Lourdes.
Also, Fr. James Martin has a nice piece here bringing up both the Immaculate Conception and St. Bernadette.
Liturgy of the Hours for the feastday, can be found at divineoffice.org. I’ll try to post Vespers a bit later.
If you want to read a great piece today, head over to American Digest for a a great post full of provocative links of provocative, maddening, cynical, amusing or thoughtful ideas. Vanderleun gives you one-stop shopping, today, with a post that gives you probably 90% of what you want to know, discuss, ponder or throw chairs over.
Deacon Greg has another great piece.
If you missed it, my latest at PJM is over here and it’s a look at how the Interregnum season from election day to inaugural day mirrors our Advent season. Except only one brings a messiah! :-)
