So many have either emailed or commented on how happy they are with the Mystic Monk coffee they’ve ordered (see sidebar or banner above) that I thought I’d throw a few of their yummy iced coffee recipes up. Nothing is more refreshing on a hot day than cold, cold coffee with a bit of ice cream in it! Frosty Mocha Cappuccino Recipe The monks recommend the Rum Pecan coffee for this In a blender combine: 1 cup Mystic Monk coffee,... Read more

Q: So, are we in a recession or aren’t we? A: Greenspan says we’re almost there! Just a few more pushes…just a few more nudges with the oil prices, and a little more talking down by the press and the economy will finally be in the recession he and the rest of the experts have been telling us we were in for the past 3 years. They want the “Bush left us in the worst economy since the depression” narrative... Read more

The other day I linked to my most recent piece at Pajamas Media, which looked at the illogical responses we too-often see when a news report does not match someone’s world view. Impressively, within hours – literally hours – of my piece being posted, the erudite Roger Kimball jumped off of it with a huge, and hugely entertaining and enlightening piece which of course is much smarter than anything I had to say, and much more elegantly said. Nietzsche clung... Read more

The only time I ever lost weight on vacation was on a trip to Ireland, where we stayed at different B&B’s almost every night. The “big Irish breakfast” was wonderful, every day, and we ate it all – cereal or porridge, black bread with butter, yogurt with berries, eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes and fried tomatoes and lots of coffee with cream. It would keep us quite filled and energetic until supper (I don’t believe we ever ate lunch, although we... Read more

Allahpundit at Hot Air assumed everyone knew who Matt was, but – for all the time I spend online – I had no idea; I’d never seen any of these “Where the Hell is Matt” videos. This is a really great video that makes you remember our common humanity and gives hope that maybe someday, we’ll all get along. Honestly, when Matt danced with the beautiful ladies in India, and joined in their moves, my eyes got moist. He seems... Read more

H/T Piano Girl, who had us howling with The Perfect Fifth (stay with it): H/T Ace another example of the singularity of baseball. Jockeying for advantage, first the batter switches his hand, then the pitcher switches his, then the batter switches back, then the pitcher switches back… until the umpire has had enough and demands both use their right hand. The second video here gives you the whole play-by-play: Read more

I hadn’t been paying much attention to Sen Barack Obama’s “flip-flip” on agreeing to use public funds for campaigning. I hadn’t thought of it in terms of Obama’s rhetoric of “change” and I suspect that for many American’s the issue seems like the standard “second tier” sort of lie all politicians tell, the sort of lie we have learned – as this Rasmussen poll demonstrates – to let roll off our backs. Ed Morrissey opened my eyes this morning, though,... Read more

It’s now official, CNN’s Lou Dobbs has become that network’s Keith Olbermann. Lou Dobbs: Bush Should Be Impeached for Salmonella Outbreak There’s really nothing to say. Dobbs wonders if there is “any sense of embarrassment” in the Bush administration. I might ask the same of the mainstream media. I mean, honestly…are we supposed to believe there were never salmonella outbreaks before President Bush took office? This is beyond parody. Meanwhile, try as they might, congress – in its desperate attempt... Read more
