Really, what kind of a headline is that? We keep hearing that the majority of Muslims in France do not consider themselves to be French. And besides, how can Muslims be Anti-Semitic when they are themselves Semitic peoples? Unless….they’re self-loathing…. Arghgh…it’s all too much. Let’s go have chocolate milk! Read more

This looks SO KEWL! I know someone ordered this via Amazon – if you would be so kind as to give me a heads up about how satisfied you are with it, I’d appreciate it. Seems like it would be great for Boy Scout trips…. Read more

I don’t think about George Clooney unless his puss in put before me – I thought his best performance was years ago, Out of Sight. But the Reliable Pundit has been thinking about him, and has a few points to make. Like me Alexandra wonders why we’re supposed to care about him. As long as we’re talkin’ Hollywood, you must, must, must go read Charlotte Allen’s brilliant and witty takedown of Annie Proulx’s “post-Oscar Brokeback” breakdown AJ Says the DPW... Read more

And I’m still a little overloaded. Going on retreat last weekend seemed to have set me WAY behind on email responses, and I am still trying to catch up. If you’re thinking I’m ignoring you, I’m probably not – I rarely ignore folks unless they’re rude – I’m just under the pile, so to speak. Aside to “cathy” thank you so much for your donation to the site – I have tried to email you directly but it keeps getting... Read more

It must. She’s raising gazillions and gazillions of dollars for her “senate” campaign. Hillary is doing those surreptitious fundraisers ‘way far away from New York. It’s hard out there for a gal running unopposed. Speaking of things Clinton, there is never a mention of it, but this wiretapping PI in Hollywood had Hillary for a client, for a while. The NY Times is doing a big story on Pellicano today, with no mention of it. Interesting. More on Pellicano here.... Read more

A few posts down, I’d opined about the future of Tony Soprano and also suggested that Rudy Giuliani is the obvious candidate for the WH in ’08, to which Mr. Murphy took exception in the comments section. We’ve agreed to disagree, but Mr. Murphy wondered what I thought about a Mitt Romney/George Allen ticket, since I’d dismissed Allen as an uncharismatic zero. I figured I’d answer it here, and we could have a good debate. Romney/Allen? THINK about what the... Read more

Ah, and here is the link from Newsday thanks to Myron. Read the whole thing. New York State Firefighter of the Year Holbrook NYFire Chief Rick Gimbl was on his way home from the firehouse a few minutes before 1 a.m. on Feb. 5, 2005 when he received an alarm for a fire at a trailer park on Lincoln Avenue. He headed straight over. Heavy snow banks had nearly blocked the narrow lanes. Chief Gimbl was looking for a place... Read more

He’ll never get it, of course – a conservative cartoonist sharing space with Garry Trudeau? He deserves it, though. I always like his stuff but this one is just priceless: This is a great secret that liberals and democrats do not understand. We laugh at them, yes. But we laugh with affection at our own guys, too. The ability to laugh at oneself is a power that brings more power. And laughing at themselves is something most – not all,... Read more
