“I can’t decide which of you is Mo Dowd and which is Hillary Clinton. I’ll just have to maim you both…” Ahem…no, I didn’t write that. My brother Thom, who I have mentioned is a bit left of center, just sent it to me. He mocks me most cruelly. I almost choked to death laughing! Read more

Aside from not being home all day, I am having problems accessing my email…so if you are sitting there (and I know some of you are…) wondering why I am not responding to anyone, anywhere, including commenters…that’s why. And if I have a huge, giant amount of email, well…you know how it goes, I may not get to it all. Read more

My son Buster was not in school today, of course, due to Veteran’s Day. He spent the better part of the morning and afternoon working on an Eagle Scout project for one of the fellows in his troop, and while they were working, they kept a radio on. One of the scoutmasters in attendance wanted to hear the president’s speech, and so they tuned into Limbaugh’s program. “The speech was really good,” Buster said, “but when it was over, instead... Read more

Nowhere in the press today can you find anything about Iraqi Kurds THANKING AMERICA. No where. Not on Drudge. Not in the newspapers. Not on the news shows. Think for a minute. If Bill Clinton – or Hillary – or anyone with a D after their name were in the White House, and formerly oppressed people were thanking America for their freedom, do you think for a second it wouldn’t be a top story? It deserves to be. And please... Read more

Couldn’t sleep last night and wanted to know what was up in France. I assumed that after 13 nights of violence, the whole situation did not completely “go away…” And I noticed that I couldn’t find much to read on it. Nothing at all in the US Press. How funny. We read about Katrina for weeks after the storm, including all those pieces by the press in which they wrote about what a great job they did, covering that storm.... Read more

You’re six months pregnant, and getting ready to attend the funeral of your five children, killed in a horrific accident…and you find time to go visit the fellow whose truck crossed the median and killed them, to say you forgive him. Amazing grace. Read more

Stephen Hayes lists ten documents the Bush Administration should insist be de-classified. Ten verrrrry interesting documents, but I doubt they’ll ever be released. It might screw up the “Bush lied” meme. Alexandra has a provocative piece of art up, along with some very insightful thoughts on the Islamification of France. Varifrank has a really good, fiesty retort to the endless doomsaying all around us. I have been meaning to link to this piece for days: Why people are Conservative. Very... Read more

Okay, it’s the French press, but we can see everyday that the same mindset exists in the US Press, as well: Mr Dassier said his own channel, which is owned by the private broadcaster TF1, recently decided not to show footage of burning cars. “Politics in France is heading to the right and I don’t want rightwing politicians back in second, or even first place because we showed burning cars on television,” Mr Dassier told an audience of broadcasters at... Read more

The internation assault on Christmas begins this year, not surprisingly, with the lights> A COUNCIL is planning to scrap grants for festive lights because Christmas does not fit in with its “core values of equality and diversity”. A report drawn up by the council in Suffolk concedes that the move could lead to officials being accused of “not supporting the spirit of Christmas”. The move is the latest in a string of decisions by organisations to downplay the celebration of... Read more
