Beauty And The Beast

The tale of Beauty and the Beast has many versions. The one that we are most familiar with is popularized by Disney. Sweet Belle courageously takes her father’s place, being imprisoned by a Beast. Beauty (Belle in french) is treated fairly by the Beast, who eventually wins her heart.

The part that I love about this tale is that Beauty shows compassion toward the Beast, someone who is ugly in some sort of form. She looks beyond appearances to the heart and in the end she finds true love.

So often in matters of the heart, we have a preconceived idea about what it should look like. How many of you can identify with having a “type.” Someone tall, dark and handsome? Someone thin, blonde and beautiful? Did you ever stop to think that if you could get beyond your “type” that maybe what you were looking for could be right in front of you?

Start with yourself

There are two, very important first steps when doing “Love Magick.” These are things to do before even beginning to look for Mr. or Mrs. Right.

Take a good look at yourself. If you lack in self-esteem, self-confidence, self-love, then you need to raise that vibration before continuing on. If you do not love yourself, how can you expect someone else to? Try these simple steps to help to raise your love vibration. That way, you can attract what kind of person you are really looking for.

Carry a piece of Rose Quartz with you at all times! Carry it in your purse, your jean pocket. Put it in your pillow case. Put it in your car. Rose Quartz is the stone of Love. All kinds of love, self-love and romantic love.

Do Affirmations every single day for at least a month. Look smack in the mirror, meet those baby blues and say the words “I LOVE YOU.” This can be harder than you think. Keep doing it. I like to write it in lipstick on the bathroom mirror so I am reminded every time that I brush my teeth or wash my hands.

Move on to what you are looking for…

Make a list of what you are looking for. How can you get what you want if you do not even know what that may be? Stop for a moment. I am not talking about the superficial things, like the blonde hair and blue eyes. I mean the things that you are looking for…like security.. “he will have a good job, he will be financially secure.” “He will care for me and my family with love and respect.” You get the idea. Do not go crazy, try about ten to twelve items that really mean something to you. This will give the universe an idea of what to send you.

Now that you made the list, what do you do with it?

Beauty and the Beast Love Spell

Supplies Needed

Red Candle (for a passionate love) OR Pink Candle (for a romantic love) Yes, you can use both.
Rose Petals
Rose Quartz
The list of what you are looking for (see paragraph above)
Love Potion (see below to make one yourself)

What to do

Set up an altar (table or shelf) facing the direction of love (west) Place the candle in the middle with rose petals circling around it. Place the rose quartz above it. Have a cauldron or dish that is safe to burn in below the candle, make sure you have it on a tile or surface that is fireproof.
Cast your circle
Call in the quarters and the Goddess Aphrodite to aid in this work
Take your candle(s) and anoint them with the love potion, holding the candle with the tip out, starting at this end and bring your fingers with oil in towards you. This will ‘bring’ the magick to you.
Light the Candle
Read the list out loud stating at the end, “I put this out to the universe to bring to me my true love. I will know her/him because he will bring me a gift of (fill in the blank) Make it personal to you. Something so that you will recognize your true love. When I did this, I said “He will bring a gift personal to me and that is how I will know him.” Please do not be so vague. I often question every gift that a guy brought me but when my true love did finally show up, he brought me a Red Riding Hood basket filled with Cakes and Wine, just like the story. He actually researched it. There was no denying he was the one.
Make sure to add the words “In the highest good, harming none, so mote it be.”
Take a moment to meditate about this working and then take your list, roll it up like a scroll, light the tip on the flame of the candle and put it in the cauldron to burn.
When finished, release Aphrodite, quarters and the circle.
Let your candles burn out and know that your true love will soon be on their way. Remember not to get discourage. If you do, repeat the spell. It took me two years for my man to come, but he was well worth the wait.

Love Potion

Into an 1/2 dram bottle, add the following:

2 drop of Ylang-Ylang Essential Oil
1 drop of Orange Essential Oil
1 drop of Jasmine Essential Oil
one or two rose petals

Fill remaining space in bottle with a carrier oil such as jojoba or almond oil. Shake. Let sit for at least two weeks, shaking every couple of days. Dab on wrists or use for anointing candles.
