Something is pressing and you are confused. Maybe it’s nearing your birthday and you want to know how your year will go? A new love, are they the one? There are as many types of readings as questions to be answered during one. Each can vary from slightly different to a whole different ball game. Tarot, Feet, Tea Leaves, Runes and more divination systems popping up, how do you know which type to get for what problem? Here is some information about each to help you make up your own mind on where and who to go to.
Pendulum
A pendulum is a nifty tool to keep close. Whether it is a fancy crystal on the end of a cord or a ring strung from a chain, a pendulum is great to answer those yes and no questions that require little thought or deciphering. They are also a wonderful way to introduce yourself to divination as they are easy to use. Simply hold the pendulum in your dominant hand, ask the pendulum to show you yes. Allow the pendulum to move on its own. Note the direction that it is swinging as this is the way it will move when answering yes. Now ask your pendulum to stop. Give it a minute and ask it to show you no. Once you have established which way the answers will swing, try asking a question that you know (such as “is my name…..) If the answer is correct, move on to your “real” question of interest. If you are having trouble due to your head thinking and not being able to “be in the moment,” ask you question with your eyes closed. Think of a place of love and peace. I like to think of my grand parents house and long ago summer days. Once you see this place, open your eyes and see which way your pendulum is swinging. That is you correct answer to the question you asked.
Tarot
Tarot is one of my favorite divination systems. A Tarot Reading should be able to give you more in depth answers. This divination is the one that will tell you what you may not want to hear, just as much as what you do want to hear. Tarot dives deep within the life paths that we walk. Although not all readers are the same, Tarot produces more “blunt” and in your face results. It can tell you when that love is coming into your life but also if you are the problem preventing it. Use this divination system when you really want answers and will not be offended by the truth. It is thorough and very informative but that also depends on how open the person getting the reading is. Tarot is great for the present, future, even far off future. Of course it is important to remember that nothing is ever written in stone and you always have your free will but Tarot is great for insight to make the best decisions moving forward.
Tea Leaves
Tea Leaf Reading has been around for-ever! Considered an ancient form of divination and almost a lost art these days. It used to be the in divination system back in the times of our grandmothers and greats. I remember a story that my grandmother told me when I was very young. She told me of the ladies in town that would come to the back door on Sunday afternoons. She would then, read their leaves. When I asked her about it as a teen, she denied the whole thing but I believe that she really did do it. Tea Leaves form images and symbols in the cup. The reader then makes sense of the images and relates it to your life. This system is light-hearted and fun. There is not too much depth in Tea Leaf Reading, making less pressure. If you are looking for clear cut answers, this may not be what you are looking for but if you are new to getting any type of reading, this is a great one to start with.
Palmistry
Personally, I always have been fascinated with Palmistry. If someone would have asked me when I was a child what I wanted to be, it would have been a Palm Reader. Every book that I could find on the subject would get read over and over. A Palm Reading is great for wide insight. A good reader can tell you about your past in quite length, as well as your passions and what you future looks like. Keep in mind, nothing is every written in stone, meaning you have the power to change your destiny. Usually, a reader will compare your dominant hand to your non-dominant one. The belief is that your dominant hand is the life that you have influenced. While, the less dominant hand is the fate that you were born with. Lines explain hiccups that you will have in life, even how many children to expect.
Runes
I would compare a Rune Reading to that of a Tarot Reading. Both systems are considered ancient and provide in depth insight. Runes are good for gaining clarity to a certain situation or problem. This type of reading can be quick and simply or long and complex. The symbols are alphabetic letters known as the ‘Elder Futhark’. This set contains 24 runes but there are other variations, including “witch” and “fairytale’ runes.
Bones
A Bone Reading is called “Throwing the Bones.” A reading of this sort is great for looking and seeing. This type of ancient reading can really detail the outcome of a certain situation in quite detail, including the potential outcome. Bone Readers will dig deeply into the reading, providing information that may seem intense. They basically are talking to the bones and of course listening to what they have to say in return.
Toes
Did someone say “Toe Readings?” Yes, I sure did. This is the reaction I always get when I bring up that I read toes. Toe Reading is popular out west. KC Miller came up with Toe Reading while doing Reflexology. This reading will reveal quite a bit about your personality but what it is great for is finding out if you are walking your path and if not, what may help, or what may be getting in the way. This reading can provide some in depth answers and deep discussions.
