When I hear words being spoken by people seeking to lead us, I don’t hear words that unite. I hear words that divide. I hear words that separate us, and create a very dangerous us vs them reality. But what frightens me even more are the words of those seeking to lead us, are the words of those seeking to follow them. If we seek anything from those who seek to lead us, it must be words that unite – in an honest way.

Life’s a process, and amazing, troublesome, interactive, scary, process. It’s filled with ups and downs, twists and turns, yet it can be an amazing adventure. Because life’s best expressed in the metaphor of journey it cannot be defined by some predetermined destination. Rather, it is best expressed by the intertwining of lives; our life with others, in relationship to the Divine. We find meaning in life by how we interact with each other – how we support each other, and how we encourage each other, how we lift each other when we are down. If we see life as a connective reality, how can anyone say, you’re on our own?
