Dear Patheos Friends, Welcome to the month of March! An active month for various reasons. The first reason is Daylight Saving time. And this year, we get to spring our clocks forward on March 10. Unless you live in the states of Arizona or Hawaii, you get to keep your clocks the same, no matter what season it is. Then March 17 is also when we celebrate all things Irish. St. Patrick Day fans get ready. The month of March is also when spring season officially begins on March 19. Science lovers will enjoy celebrating the spring equinox on this date. March 23 is the Feast of Purim, a Jewish festival commemorating the survival of the Jews from massacre. Women’s History month is also celebrated this month. Cheers to us women! Last but not least, Lent concludes this month and the big celebration of Easter is March 31! With many more observances and celebrations, March is an exciting month!

Now, let’s dive into our topic for this post: examining what employee engagement trends are telling us. Parents, get a jump start on your child’s career with this post. In a recent press release on the state of the Christian Workplace 2024 Report highlights employee engagement trends. The report provides an understanding of employee engagement and workplace health in Christian workplaces. The interesting thing is that the report highlights employee engagement trends similar to the recent state of global workplace 2023 report by Gallup. The Gallup report examines how employees around the world are experiencing life and work.

For example, the 2024 Christian Workplace report asserts the importance of workplace health. Mr. Bransford, President and CEO of Best Christian Workplaces states that healthy Christian-led workplaces can succeed in spreading Christ-like service, character, and values to the world. Furthermore, Bransford states that in 2023, the research conducted showed that an estimated fifty-five percent of employees in Christian-led organizations felt positively engaged. Similarly, the 2023 Gallup global report asserts that the percentage of employees thriving at work reached a record high in 2022. Furthermore, the Gallup report stated that twenty-three percent of the world’s employees were engaged at work in 2022, the highest level since Gallup began measuring global engagement in 2009. Both of these reports confirm the importance of workplace health in Christian and non-Christian workplaces.

One thing that stands out in both workplace reports is the idea of measuring employee engagement. The deduction from this idea is that employee engagement is a value that matters whether that be a Christian or non-Christian workplace. And values that matter tend to be measured. Workplaces are occupied by humans and measuring their engagement at work is an essence of great value.

Workplace health is not automatic. It takes intentionality in all aspects; from planning to implementation of processes, ideas,or procedures that fosters a healthy workplace in a Christian and non-Christian environment. It is important to note that the Christian workplace report points to the need of equipping leaders to build flourishing workplaces. This is why Bransford’s organization exists-  to ensure Christian leaders are equipped to set high standards for an effective workplace that allows their employees to thrive and grow. Learn more and check out the linked full reports in this post on workplace engagement trends. Christian leaders, I’ll love to hear from you about key areas in the reports that stood out to you and why.
