The Posture of Revival

Last Quarter of Year

Dear Patheos Friends: It’s unbelievable that we are now in the last quarter of the year! Yes, October blessings are upon us! It is now feeling like fall here in Texas. This month of October brings with it lots to observe and celebrate. From National Child Health Day, National Mammography Day, National Taco Day, and more it is a month of highlights. A Happy Birthday blessing to everyone celebrating this month.

Appreciative Feedback

Appreciate all your feedback from the last post. More has happened that continually calls for our focus on prayer. Horrific place of worship attacks here in the United States and yesterday in United Kingdom. Continuous shaking in the church collective, nonchalance towards the things of God. And to top this off, our government is shut down here in America; while the people that elected their leaders are suffering.

The Rapture Again

And lest we forget the Jesus Is Coming Back On A Specific Date is back in the news. It was stated that Jesus Christ was coming back September 23-24, 2025. Since that did not happen, the same source has a new date that Jesus Christ is coming October 6-7. It is our earnest prayer that no Bible believing, and Holy Spirit filled followers of Christ believes this deception and heresy! But lest we forget the Word of God, here are some friendly reminders:

“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father” (Matthew 24:36).

“But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, not the Son, but only the Father” (Mark 13:32). 

“So Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for Him” (Hebrews 9:28).

Great Time For Believers

Last week, some friends were visiting on some concerns in the church collective (Body of Christ). We finished our time together, pouring out our hearts before the LORD. On one hand, this is a great time to be a part of what God is doing here on earth. On the other hand, this is also an alarming time that the scriptures warned believers about (2 Timothy 3:1). One of our generals in the faith stated something so profound recently, before the rapture, there will be rupture.

Posture of Revival

God is calling His people to posture ourselves for revival. God is the architect of revival. His Spirit is the One that accomplishes change in the hearts of people. We have been blessed to see sprinkles of revival through the years. Many will say we are in full mode revival. When we go back to the scriptures, we can see what revival looked like for the early church and where we are today. If we are seeing one in twenty-five people that are followers of Christ around us, our work of posturing ourselves as believers is cut out for us- until we see one in two people that are believers, we continue to cry out for revival. Also, revival will not be concentrated to a specific place- it will be happening simultaneously in different places all over the world. Only the Spirit of God that is Omnipresent can accomplish this.

God’s Vessels

The good news is- God’s Spirit works through His vessels (2 Corinthians 4:7). However, these are not just any vessels. Revival comes with a cost, just like the scriptures show us (2 Timothy 2: 20-21). Followers of Christ get to choose which type of vessels to be as our posture for God’s Spirit to fill us to overflowing.

Elements of Revival

Dr. Richard Lovelace, one of America’s theologian and church history educator, explained so well the best postures of revival for the church collective. These postures of revival are directly correlated to the scriptures. He explained that seven elements are necessary for an explosion of revival in our times. As God calls His people to posturing ourselves for revival, may these elements be evident in every believer in Christ and most importantly every spiritual leader. They are: Depth of God’s Presence, Depth of Holiness, Spread of the Gospel, Transforming Prayer, Reformation of Church, Empowerment of Holy Spirit, and Massive Societal Impact. Our work is cut out. May the LORD help His people!
