Lifestyle of Thanksgiving

Dear Patheos Friends: The slow pace of November we have been looking forward to is here! The month when majority of our states turn our clocks back. And the leaves are telling of the majesty of God as green leaves and vegetation gradually turn brown. This month of November brings lots for us to observe and celebrate. The major holiday this month being Thanksgiving Day. However, we do not need to wait till November 27 to give thanks. Every day is a gift from God to give thanks. And happy birthday blessings to everyone celebrating this month.

Surge of Awakening

There is so much to be grateful for and feel incredibly blessed by all God is doing in this hour. There is a surge of awakening in the hearts of young, old, men, and women globally. It has been a hectic two-year laboring in prayer and the Word of God to birth: The Fear of God: Growing The Inner Life– newest book released yesterday. The message has felt like a pregnancy and the launch feels exactly like birthing a baby with relief and relaxation.

The Fruit of Collaboration

Some of the memorable experiences during the past two years bringing The Fear of God: Growing The Inner Life to life has been the remarkable people I have been fortunate to collaborate with on this assignment. Thank you to our Patheos community content director for gathering us together. Thank you to my fellow Patheos columnists and my husband for their transparent contributions. Their contributing voices can be found in chapter three of the book.

The Seed of Reverence

Here is a taste from chapter three (an excerpt): “Living in the fear of God is a love relationship that fuels a believer’s obedience, choices and lifestyle. As we read in chapter one, the fear of God is a seed, is planted in the heart of a Christian when born again or saved. The seed grows as it is watered by the daily reading and studying of scriptures. What ends up happening, is that the seed grows into a strong lustrous tree that bears fruit in the life of that believer in Christ.”  

The Call To Reverence

The Fear of God: Growing The Inner Life is a call to reverence for anyone that loves the LORD and walks with Him. And anyone that want to understand how the fear of God correlates to spiritual growth. The book is dedicated to all truth tellers everywhere. It is a blessing to know and be in community with many truth tellers. It does take the fear of God to be a truth teller-knowing firsthand what pleases God and brings Him honor and glory.

Don’t Gamble With Eternity

In a time where many people are anti-God or cynical towards the things of God, one main prayer is that the Holy Spirit will sweep through the hearts and lives of people without Christ, drawing them to the heavenly Father, so they will get to know Jesus Christ as Savior. There is nothing cynical about eternity and getting to eternity without Christ is too late to find out. Eternity is real and the decision on where to spend it is made here on earth. I urge you, do not gamble with eternity. God has already made a way through His Only Son-Jesus Christ (John 14:6).

Let The Redeemed Rise Up

On the other hand, may God’s redeemed people answer the call to reverence in this critical hour because we love Him. In a time that living for Christ is coming with a high cost in the marketplace and public square, may the redeemed rise up. The high cost of living for Christ is not new as the scriptures explains in the New Testament, especially in the book of Acts. Our Savior Himself, states in  Luke 9:23, “And He said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” Are you ready to answer the call to reverence, take up your cross daily and follow Jesus Christ?  And don’t forget to get your copy of The Fear of God: Growing The Inner Life!
