7 Quick Takes Friday (volume 2)

7 Quick Takes Friday (volume 2) August 6, 2011

1.

This has been a great week!! Stacey put in a bid for a HUGE account and he got it. We are so excited. But that means so much more work for me. I used to beg and beg to help with the company. Now I wonder why I didn’t just keep my mouth shut and ask for a mansion and a margarita machine!!

2.

I got into a debate with a man over the pro-life issue this week. Unlike most pro-choice people I’ve come across this guy was not very bright. He assumed that all pro-lifers blow up stuff and shoot people. Well for one thing I was all about blowing up stuff before my conversion, but now I have a new approach. So he kinda missed the mark on that one. But I have to say that him comparing a cat abortion to that of a woman carrying a human child was the highlight of my week. REALLY?! Wow.

3.

The battery in my car died, so I was not able to go and pick up my kids yesterday like I planned. My plan was to get my 4 home and settled before Stacey’s 3 came over for the weekend. That plan was an Epic Fail! So instead Stacey’s 3 will get here today and I’m going to get my 4 tomorrow and the chaos that is known as the Adams Family will begin… Lord help me.

4.

My 17 year old has been so clingy with no other kids around. I really don’t know what to make of it, but he keeps saying that we are bonding. I just think he’s buttering me up so he can stay here rent free after graduation. LOL

5.

I LOVE Simcha Fisher’s blog!! She just cracks me UP! Every time I see a post of hers in my newsfeed I smile. I have to grab a cup of coffee and sit down to enjoy it. She had some pointers on how to write well. I am a horrible writer, so I will reread it and try to do better.

Stacey brought home the mail a few days ago and in it was a CD of Marian Hymns of Ephesus sung by the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles. Now I usually listen to Jason Aldean or Seether. Maybe main stream Christian music, so to think that I would even enjoy this CD was not even imaginable. I put it in so that it I could let Felecity listen to it when she gets home. Well, it’s the best CD I’ve ever heard. It just makes my day!

7.

Yesterday Gov. Perry sent out a message saying that from 3pm to 7pm everyone needed to do their part to conserve energy. Some of the things that were listed for us NOT to do were : laundry, run the dishwasher, and cook on electric ranges. Well he didn’t have to tell me twice!! That was my dream come true. I called my husband and told him I couldn’t do anything because we had to conserve energy, so I was going to take a nap. It was a housewife’s dream. Well this lazy housewife’s anyway.

Hope everyone has a great week!
