Battles – WE All Have Them

We all face battles daily. Some are small and maybe a bit insignificant. While others are quite a feat. No matter the size, we always need Strength and Peace as our companions, or we will lose the battle.

David reminds us, “The Lord gives to His people strength and blesses His people with peace (Psalm 29:11 ESV).”

No matter the battle, we have this Psalm to remind us that Strength and Peace are but a prayer away.

God Gives You Authority

Not only does God give us Strength and Peace to face each battle, He also gives us Authority. His Authority.

“Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you” (Luke 10:19 ESV).

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8 ESV).

We all have enemies. None of us are immune. Even Jesus had enemies. The Pharisees refused to believe He was the Son of God and sought to have Him arrested. You might even have “Pharisees” of your own who don’t allow you to shine the way God intended. You may be dealing with Doubt. Fear may be knocking at your door. Sitting with Anxiety may be a daily routine but with the help of the Holy Spirit, we have God’s Authority to stand firm and confront the enemy in any form he may take.

How Can We Do This?

If you wish to speak to the enemy with God’s authority, you have to spend time with God and read His word daily. This small discipline will help you hone in on your ability to hear His voice and speak His words with authority.

“Moses and Aaron went into the tent of meeting and when they came out, they blessed the people and the glory of the Lord appeared to all the people. And fire came out from before the Lord and consumed the burnt offering and the pieces of fat on the altar, and when all the people saw it, they shouted and fell on their faces. (Leviticus 9:23-24 ESV).”

What an awesome thing to enter into the presence of God. The glory of God appeared to all people. I’m so thankful we no longer have to make a sacrifice on an altar to be in God’s presence. By the grace of God and the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross, we get to experience God’s presence anytime we ask.

Let’s Walk with Our Heads Held High

By spending time in God’s word every day, we learn to hear His voice and know when to act, what to say, and where to move.

When the battles of life come, and we all know they will, remember Psalm 29:11. Strength and Peace will be our companions. As we walk with Authority – God’s Authority, we can walk with our heads held high.
