Wisdom

Before the Earth began, Wisdom was. She watched God tend to Soil and Weather and put Sky in place. She witnessed as He established borders for Ocean and set boundaries for Sea. Side by side, she stood with God making sure everything fit. Day after day, she enjoyed His company and the creation of the human family.

Today, because she witnessed the human family turn from God, Lady Wisdom stands at First and Main and takes her stand. She beckons for our return. Can you hear her? Listen.

How to Live

To live life and live it abundantly listen to what Wisdom says. With her, leaders and lawmakers legislate fairly. Governors and authorities govern legitimately. She cannot stand evil and truth-ready minds will know this immediately.

Wisdom only knows the truth. She only speaks the truth. Keep an open mind and you will hear the truth.

Seek her Diligently

She loves those who love her. Do right by her and find real life – God’s good pleasure. Wrong her and damage your soul.

She can often be found on Righteous Road, standing at the intersection of Justice Lane where she hands out life to all who seek it.

Wealth and Glory are her companions and they readily meet up with Honor and Good Name. Her benefits far outweigh anything you could imagine. If you seek her, you will find her.

Folly

To not seek Wisdom is flirting with Folly. Don’t be duped, Folly introduces you to Seduction who lures you into the traps of this world.

She promises you a good time but never reveals her secrets. “‘Steal away with me, I’ll show you a good time! No one will ever know – I’ll give you the time of your life’  What they don’t know is all her guests end up in hell” Proverbs 17-18 MSG.

Whose Invitation do you choose?

Both Wisdom and Folly invite you to dinner. They have an open invitation.

Wisdom offers delicious food and carefully selected wines. She deepens life by bestowing good counsel and common sense to all who listen. All who accept her invitation follow the path to eternal life.

Folly’s only offer is a good time with all the pleasures of this world. Her offer is temporary satisfaction. Anyone who chooses her invitation follows the path to hell.

Be careful whose invitation you choose. Solomon, the wisest man in the world, warns:

“Wise son, glad father; stupid son, sad mother” Proverbs 10:1MSG.

“A wise heart takes orders; an empty head will come unglued” Proverbs 10:8 MSG.

“The wise accumulate knowledge – a true treasure; know-it-alls talk too much – a sheer waste” Proverbs 10:14 MSG.

My Prayer

Oh Wisdom. I choose you. Help me to be on guard and watchful so that I am not be seduced and lured into the traps of this world. Let me be a guide and light to others so that they don’t go astray.
