Just as the butterfly can flutter its wings in Brazil and potentially cause a tornado in Texas, physical touch, small acts of kindness, and generosity can have far-reaching effects, even leading others to Jesus.

Physical Touch

Humans are made for physical touch. It is a fundamental aspect of growth and development, social bonding, and well-being. The physical touch impacts both physical and emotional health. A simple tap on the shoulder or a hug hello can stimulate the release of endorphins, helping to alleviate physical and emotional discomfort.

Jesus used physical touch to heal the sick, restore sight, and cleanse lepers.

Love

Showing love toward others, within our community and beyond, leads to stronger bonds, enhances mental and physical health, and fosters a more compassionate and cooperative society. When people feel loved and supported, they are more likely to extend that love toward others, creating a ripple effect of love and compassion.

Compassion, empathy, and acts of service are just a few ways Jesus exemplified love.

Generosity

Generosity affects both the giver and the receiver, fostering happiness, strengthening relationships, and promoting good health. Volunteering, or giving gifts, releases dopamine and oxytocin, which contribute to happiness and well-being. Generosity builds a stronger community and encourages social connection.

Jesus was known for His generosity. He consistently demonstrated a giving spirit, particularly in His willingness to sacrifice Himself for all of humanity.

When we administer a positive physical touch, perform a small act of kindness, and have a generous spirit, we impact more than ourselves. We create a force that can trigger a positive ripple effect, or positivity loop, enhancing the well-being of an individual, a community, and even the world.

Jesus is our example. Live like He did and make a difference. We’ll never know how one small act we do today will affect a generation tomorrow.
