“Mr. President, I’m an old lady, with a minor, little stroke or whatever it is, and only one eye, but I can see that this nation grates in my teeth. A sleeping giant, a sleeping giant that could good bring – could bring good to the world holiness, goodness, compassion, strength and hope. But I don’t think unless we tackle the terrorists in our country, we can expect God to protect and guide us.
“Mr. President, would you consider putting prayer back in the schools and letting us pray at social functions? I understood you prayed at a football or a baseball game. Could we pray in restaurants, and could we have little reminders of the Lord God? Could we put cribs back on our lawns and not be afraid of being ridiculed?
“Mr. President, would you consider having prayer back in the schools? Would you consider taking that horrible law, the permission to kill – to terrorize the innocent? And I know some of you are mad at me right now, I figure in my condition I have nothing to lose, right? – but would you consider saying no more abortion is allowed in this country?”

With this guy around there is a smidgeon of hope left for this sad, sick, sluggish, self-protecting organization that calls itself the One True Church Established By Christ after all.

I’m rather disappointed to read that Mother A. doesn’t pray at restaurants or social functions, as she is awaiting the President’s unneeded permission to do so.
She is another right-wing nutbag that you can safely ignore, Kurt. I had you in mind when I posted it.
Yeah, well 20 years ago when I was on a flight to Birmingham, she sharp elbowed me out of her way in the airport, so she is kinda hard to ignore.
Of course, I carry no grudge. I’ve almost forgotten about it!!!
Sorry to pop off.
Reading the comments here. Before I read this and the comments I read John Allen’s excellent artice on Post Triabla Catholicism . A Pox on both our houses
This priest desecrates himself and the entire priesthood. I’ve met holy priests, and they don’t stir up and pander to greed and resentment like this man does. Not to defend the rich, it’s always been the rare, meek person who went to heaven. America used to be better than this!
He actually looked pretty meek to me. The applause looked like they embarrassed him.
As the Rev. Harry Emerson Fosdick said, our job is to “Comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable,”
