Paterson: Written and directed by Jim Jarmusch, Paterson is the equivalent of spending a rainy day in your pajamas with a good book: Not much happens, but the time couldn’t be better spent. We follow Paterson (Adam Driver) as he drives a bus, writes poetry and lives his life with his delightfully eclectic better half, Laura (Golshifteh Farahani). The film, much like is main character, is filled with prosaic poetry (though it can be a bit foul in spots, thus the R rating). It tells us that we’re more than what we do; that even as we fill life’s pages with do-to lists, we can make art, and find meaning, around its edges.
