More Mercy Now

More Mercy Now

We had a fine sesshin in Pittsburgh, thanks to Kyoki and all her crew. Rained all day on Saturday and then snowed on Sunday, making me feel right at home.

The sesshin theme was continuous practice and so I shared this to start from Mary:

…We all could use a little mercy now
I know we don’t deserve it
But we need it anyhow
We hang in the balance
Dangle ‘tween hell and hallowed ground
Every single one of us could use some mercy now
I’ve posted a different version of this song before but (thanks to Ryan) we played this one at the end of the sesshin during informal tea.

I’ll have more about continuous practice in the coming days so if you are interested in that kinda thing, stay tuned.

In the photo below, instead of “cheese” I said “Buddha schmooda.” Kyoki seems to have liked that.
