Join the Wild Goose Street Team

Join the Wild Goose Street Team 2012-05-23T13:40:26-06:00

Wild Goose is starting a street team.

The Street Team is a group of people who resonate with the festival and are willing to help formally share information about the event through their blogs, Facebook, Twitter or other networks.

The Street Team will be considered one of the “first lines of communication” for the festival. Wild Goose staff will send Street Team members updates and announcements about the festival before they are released to the general public and may occasionally ask them for feedback on ideas in process.

There will also be a meeting place (in the Media/Press Tent) for Street Team members to check in during the festival if they’d like to share ideas or help recruit new members. (More information to come.)

TO JOIN THE STREET TEAM, PLEASE EMAIL YOUR NAME, WEBSITE URL (IF YOU HAVE ONE), TWITTER AND/OR FACEBOOK NAMES TO SARAH (AT) WILDGOOSEFESTIVAL (DOT) ORG .

You might also like to add a Wild Goose badge to your profile pic or donate one tweet per week here.

Also, for more information, please check out FAQ’s for the Street Team below.

Q: What if I already serve as a volunteer in another area of Wild Goose?

A: Being on the Street Team will not conflict with any other responsibility–including your personal socializing–at the festival. It also is not especially time consuming, since it involves spreading Wild Goose news online, and will not likely drain your energy away from other tasks you help with. Ideally, we’d love for every volunteer who is willing to be on the Street Team.

Q: How many times will you ask me to spread news? I don’t want to have to turn my social networks into a commercial area for the event.

A: We will have approximately 8 main pushes a year that release new information, such as the festival’s theme, lineup, ticket sales and the addition of new areas of programming within the festival. We hope that all Street Team members will help spread these important news items. We may have occasional news items beyond those 8, in which case we will send a brief update to you and leave it to your discretion whether you think it is appropriate to pass onto your followers.

Q: What if I’ve never been to Wild Goose, but I just consider myself a Wild-Goose-type-of-person?

A: Sometimes, because of people you know within the event or other like-mindedness, you already sense that you resonate with an event like Wild Goose. If this is the case, we welcome you to learn more about the festival by receiving and sharing information about it via the Street Team.

Q: This seems very low-commitment, which is great. But I have some ideas or energy around promoting the festival beyond that if you can use someone.

A: We are looking for some volunteers who have the vision to lead in the area of promotion. If you are interested, please feel free to send an email with “LEADER” in the subject line to sarah (at) wildgoosefestival (dot) org.
