Reiki Shared Between the Worlds

Over the next two years, I took up my own sacred mission. I left the isolation of my broom closet behind, going radically public. I eventually released the dysfunctional marriage, and with much help from many loved ones, we opened The Sojourner in a prominent downtown location.
That first Yule season we were in business, my own Reiki Master, Anna Greenflame, was in the shop offering Reiki and reflexology and I booked an appointment for myself. I had just spent an hour swimming in energetic bliss and relaxation when she closed the session and helped me to sit up, saying something like, “Hon, there is someone here, behind you.”
Now, I was in a blissed-out state of mind, and I didn’t quite understand her. I murmured something like, “yeah, everyone has been really supportive.”
“No, I mean, someone is DIRECTLY behind you, right now.” I turn, but I have never had the gift of seeing Spirits with my physical eyes, so I saw no one there.
Anna goes on to tell me that as she was doing the reflexology on my feet, the spirit of an older woman–heavier, more matronly, who looked a lot like me, but with shorter, curlier hair–entered the door, to the head of the massage table and begin aiding Anna in my treatment, placing her hands on my crown chakra and sending me energy. She said that she believed this was my mother, as she was being very maternal toward me.
I started babbling like and idiot about how my mother would never have stepped foot in a store like mine while she was living…that she would snarl at anything too “New Age-y.” Again, with the crass jokes, I said “if she knew that I’d used her life insurance money to open a witchcraft store, she’d be rolling in her grave.”
In a moment of loving, yet weighted diplomacy, Anna stopped me by gently touching my knee, saying, “Hon, she IS here, NOW; she knows.”
