My Family And I Spent The Weekend With Jesus, And 5,000 of His Friends… September 16, 2013

The occasion was the first Eucharistic Congress ever held in the Diocese of Knoxville. Why now? It was the Jubilee celebration of the diocese’s 25th Anniversary. The theme? His Presence + Our Faith + Families Together In Christ.

Some of Jesus’s friends showed up too. Like the President of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, Timothy Cardinal Dolan. Here’s a snippet of the Keynote Address he gave on Saturday.

Actually, no matter where you are, you’re the Church of the present, even if your whiskey isn’t as good as Jack Daniel’s.

Lots of other folks joined Cardinal Dolan to celebrate with us, including Scott Hahn,

Fr. Robert Barron,

and the aforesaid 5,000 Catholics from both near and far. Did I mention a lot of nuns came too?

Here’s a video recap you may enjoy.

It’s a great time to be a disciple of Christ.
