Gonna be honest. I’m terrible at math. Really terrible. So, I can’t say unequivocally whether or not his numerology is correct. Of course, it is the Third Eagle of the Apocalypse, so based on that alone this is definitely not correct. Then again, I have always thought that bar codes were “trying to pull a fast one on” me (3:45 mark). So, maybe Mr. Tapley is on to something after all. Read more

We’re sure this is probably a wonderful ministry that helps lots of women. We are absolutely not making fun of the ministry or the people involved with it. We’re simply calling attention to the fact that they may want to reword their ministry pitch for the future. Also, “intimate in-home environment” is probably not a phrase you want to use in conjunction with an already misleading ministry pitch. As you can tell from the screen capture, you ladies... Read more

Yes this is cringe worthy for any Springsteen fan, but you do have to give ApologetiX (the group behind the parody) credit for a pretty spot on vocal sync. Not that it necessarily redeems the situation, but it certainly makes it more entertaining than a guy with a guitar sitting in his basement in front of his webcam. UPDATE: Apparently, the original video got busted for copyright infringement. So, we’ve replaced it with a live version of the... Read more

Please forgive us southeast Asia, for we know not what we do. **Please note, this is not a criticism of Chris Tomlin or his music. His worship songs have become the modern hymns of the church and he seems like a really great guy. Just not sure that the choreographed light show which is often so much a part of  American contemporary worship is something we want to send overseas or even promote here for that matter. Read more

Yeah, we can rhyme in our headlines. Boom! We just did it again. Jay-Z,  where’s our record deal?! Anyway, it looks like somebody took Brett McCracken’s book Hipster Christianity pretty seriously. Hipster Church is literally this church’s name. You can visit the church’s website here. Here’s the pastor…. And here’s their story…. Finally, A Hipster Church For Hipster Christians Gothamist.com Look at that old church, getting hip to the know! After forgiving John Lennon a few years back, organized religion today... Read more

According to this video from Ed Young (a clip he posted), “you can’t make an argument scripturally for anti-tangible stuff”. Well, nothing but love for Ed Young, but I thought I’d take up the challenge. We could look at the historical tradition of the church in which countless men and women, not least of all monks, priests, and nuns, lived lives of self-denial in order to be more like Jesus, but since Pastor Young wants to focus on... Read more

We’re torn on this one. On one hand, we appreciate the humorous take on ‘Christianese’ that is often times confusing. Kudos for that. On the other hand, the Bible covered in blood that jumps out of an alien egg to attack people, the alien that pops out of the guy’s chest that we think represents Jesus, and the zombie Christian at the end are kind of strange. So, in the spirit of Funny or Die we’re going to let you... Read more

Christian Nightmares posted this yesterday. Along with Matthew Turner. Sorry, we’re late to the game. Busy day yesterday. It looks like it originated from a poster at Reddit. It’s fascinating to say the least…..if it’s real I say “if it’s real” because, speaking from personal experience, this sort of thing is easy to fake something. In high school I may or may not have been an office worker my senior year and I may or may not have... Read more
