In recognition of Black History Month, we feel that we should share some of Jack Chick’s work intended for black audiences.  While there really isn’t anything overtly racist in this particular tract (wish we could say the same for others…), the title of the tract is enough to show how out of touch with reality poor Jack can be.  So, without further ado:   Also: Bonus points if you can figure out what’s going on with the cat in this... Read more

Don’t know if this one’s made the rounds or not. Looks like it came out a few months ago, so maybe it has. Nevertheless it’s pretty funny. It’s a spoof on those ubiquitous Progressive Insurance commercials. Long story short it is quintessential American Christianity. Read more

Picard for Halloween one year complete with official uniform and communicator pin. I know, I was a pretty cool kid. So when I came across this video it took down memory lane. The video quality on this is pretty rough, but the premise is too fantastic not to post.... Read more

U.S. Catholic Church blesses iPhone app for confession -USA Today The U.S. Catholic Church has apparently given its blessing to an iPhone app aimed at helping Catholics through confession, Reuters reports. The $1.99 “Confession: A Roman Catholic” app guides Catholics through the sacrament and contains what the developer describes as a “personalized examination of conscience for each user.” It is not designed to replace going to confession but to help Catholics through the act, which generally involves admitting sins to a priest... Read more

This may only be amusing to me and the handful of you out there interested in biblical scholarship, but I find it amusing. Apparently there is a Jesus Seminar conference coming to Salem, OR. Those of you not familiar with this group, allow me to briefly catch you up. Long story short they are a self appointed group of scholars, led by John Dominic Crossan and Robert Funk, which started back in the 80’s as part of an effort to... Read more

Well, it looks like we all need to go ahead and cancel our Super Bowl parties tomorrow, or as those of us in the church call it for legal reasons the “Souper Bowl”. According to the Third Eagle the Super Bowl won’t happen because…….it’s the 45th Super Bowl! Why does that matter? Easy, because 44 is an “end times number”. But you say, “Wait, isn’t this Super Bowl 45?” Well, yeah, but……ok I give up. As usual I have no... Read more
