Jehovah’s Witnesses have a lot of beliefs about the medical community. They can accept medical treatments, however have some interesting caveats. Jehovah’s Witnesses do practice faith healing, but also will go to hospitals and doctors for certain procedures as long as they are bloodless. Jehovah’s Witnesses view blood transfusions as an act against the Bible. There are instances in the Bible both in the New and Old Testament that command refraining from taking in blood. For example, Acts 15:28-29 states “For the holy spirit and we ourselves have favored adding no further burden to you except these necessary things: to keep abstaining from things sacrificed to idols, from blood, from what is strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you carefully keep yourselves from these things, you will prosper.”
