We all have intuition. Every single one of us. Intuition comes from within us, around us and from past experiences. It is supposed to teach us what to do and where to go and who to trust even if you don’t have the complete road map in front of you. It is that turn-by-turn direction that we all have, but we doubt and create false scenarios in our head, especially if there is a lot of grey around us. It makes it easier to point fingers at others than to own the burden of responsibility. And yet when we get burned, we punish ourselves because we knew. When a knowing can’t be explained, we instead attempt to rationalize it.
Below are 6 Tarot cards from the Shadowscapes Tarot Deck. The backs are all the same, but by using your intuition, ask your guides and angels what it is you are to work on in 2017 and then choose one of the cards that calls most to you. Take a deep breathe in and out. Don’t second guess yourself – just choose.

If you chose card #1 – THE CHARIOT – Your journey may have changed in the last couple years with losses and upheavals, and you’ve lost your balance, if not even your confidence. 2017 brings you the opportunity to set your GPS and stop allowing yourself to be sidetracked away from your dreams and aspirations. Progression only happens if you make yourself move, taking the steps, even if just baby ones. Be careful of the self-doubt.
Opportunities are constant for you this year, in all areas of your life. Are you open to them? Business opportunities with financial gain will be offered, but it might be wise to seek out a financial consultant to help you invest rather than splurge. There is a creative endeavor as well that you are to explore. And travel is important, so make sure to get the car tuned up and ready.
The Chariot gives you the green light to charge ahead and take control over your life. Your success depends on your will and ability to be in control, and to be brave enough to move forward even in unknown territory. You steer your life in the direction you desire, but it requires will power and motivation to create our own destiny.
There’s also a male on the other side (who may have smoked) who is watching over you.
If you chose card #2 – NINE OF PENTACLES – You are a super hard worker, but you are ready for a bit of a break. You are allowed to treat yourself to a day off, a massage, or whatever tickles your fancy. Life hasn’t exactly been easy, but that hasn’t scared you, In fact it’s made you pretty darn strong! You just need to remember that you can’t be a superhero all the time. And even superheroes take a day off to rest and relax. Yes, that project may be looming, and you aren’t being lazy by taking a breather.
Nine of Pentacles also means that there will be a prosperity increase coming within the next few months. The resources for this are all around you, just stay aware. Remember that you reap rewards of prosperity easily and effortlessly, if you so choose. Discipline and self control may be needed, along with asking for help. It could be a consolidation loan, life coaching, or just talking to a friend.
Burn out is real, and you tend to be a worrier. This stops the natural flow of prosperity (love, money, health, etc) to come to you. It might benefit you to do hypnotherapy, meditation, or creating a vision that you can continue to look at, reminding you of your self-worth.
There is a spirit on the other side who may have lived through the Depression, or hard times. It is he/she who guides you, reminding you to take your birthright and stop seeing yourself as suffering.
If you chose card #3 – QUEEN OF SWORDS – The last few years have not been easy on you, but you must be careful to not carry the cynicism over into the new year. You are intuitive and perceptive, not a fan of stupidity and are razor sharp. There’s a privacy about you and you don’t allow everyone into your circle. That’s okay. It speaks to your loyalty. But it is hard being you because not everyone understands you, or you don’t have the time or want to try to explain. This year, however, is about opening yourself up just a bit. Trying new things. Traveling to new locations. Taking in new experiences.
There is a female energy who may have been a tad difficult. She has some regrets not allowing herself to take the leaps of faith, which may have made her bitter in life. She wants you to stop giving up on yourself because you feel others have given up on you. You are loved.
There may have been some family upheavals over the past couple years. Instead of focusing on all that went wrong, focus on moving forward and forgiving. Also, take care of your health this year – there could be some health issues or even surgery.
If you chose card #4 – TWO OF CUPS – typically points towards a relationship that is based on mutual attraction and romantic attraction. This relationship is clear, nurturing, supportive and heartfelt. If you aren’t in a relationship then there is one coming soon. Two of Cups can refer to marriage, proposals and engagements. If you are in a relationship, this is the one.
Outside of love, the Two of Cups reflects a partnership of sorts, be it a business partnership, friendship or even a relationship between a person and their pet. This is also the year for you to build that relationship with yourself and the passions that have burning within but you’ve been too busy making everyone else happy.
With the Two of Cups – I typically see a younger person on the other side who passed before they should’ve. They are there to remind you of your own youthfulness and that it’s never too late to begin again.
If you chose card #5 – KING OF WANDS – You are intelligent, witty, dependable, and very much loved. You are also very hard on yourself, and 2016 hasn’t come without its hardships for you. When they talk about being one’s own worst enemy they are talking about you. Nobody sees you this, but it eats you up. You want everyone to be taken care of, and you feel as if that is your job. It’s not, and in fact you aren’t doing yourself any favors with keeping up with this stress. Your loved ones want you here with them, not stressed and worried, creating potential future health issues. You can’t help that you are a natural mediator, a forever diplomat, who likes fairness and wants that for you and your loves ones. It is who you are. You inspire and you are a master problem solver. Now it’s time to utilize your ability to delegate too so you aren’t so overwhelmed.
2017 is promising to be a positive year for you, filled with opportunities – including more finances and some job changes (for the positive). You are a creative thinker, and if you are feeling like change has to happen, trust your instincts and go for it. If you are feeling secure with where you’re at, add some minor changes into your life (like take a class) so not to get stagnant.
There could be a new baby brought into the family (the furry kind is included in this) or possibly just birthing of new projects, including some major home renovations.
When I see the King of Wands – I see a father/grandfather energy on the other side who was very patient and kindhearted. He’d be the type that would throw the ball around, take you fishing, or simply spend time with you. He didn’t care if you are a male or female, he treated you the same no matter the gender, and he loved you, although he might not have been expressive about it in the verbal sense.
If you chose card #6 – THE EMPRESS – The Empress encourages you to connect with others by nurturing, caring and supporting those around you. Find ways to support dialogue and open communication, creating a space to openly express your feelings.When we allow ourselves to truly experience the connections with Mother Earth, our femininity and those around us, we create abundance and radiance in our lives. Take a moment to reflect on the love that surrounds you and build on this energy to create even more abundant love in your life. Know that love is limitless. A wonderful affirmation associated with the Empress is, “I bring forth my creations with joy. I love and nurture them to fruition.”
This is a great time to start a new hobby or birth a new project. The Empress is the mother in you and just know that mothers also need to take time out for themselves.
When I see this card I often see a gentle female figure (mom/grandma/female adviser) on the other side who wants to help you out.
