SubhanAllah! It’s so easy to judge people without making any efforts to collect all the facts!

Rafi named me national secretary of his Moorish League and Noble Order of Moorish Sufis in 2001. In 2002 I visited him in Baltimore for a week. I was blessed to have him email me, call me, and send numerous letters. i hope someone can help save his archives before they get thrown away like those of many Muslim pioneers in America.

Thanks for your words, I heard of Rafi thru the Moorish movement (thanks to Ahari El) & he was truly a guiding light & an inspiration. Re-reading the article about Marian, it still brings tears to my eyes. It’s weird to feel such strong feelings about people I’ve never met & really know almost nothing about. I don’t believe anything & I don’t pray but I’m praying for Anya right now. Sounds like there’s a strong nurturing community around her though.

I knew of Rafi through his involvement with Sea Scouts. He was a great guy and the world was a better place because of his participation in many aspects of life. Thank you for your years of service to the scouting community.
Pleasant journey, dear sailor, as you pass beyond the horizon.

I would like to put together a collection of Rafi’s poetry and essays. I have around fifty emails, twenty somethings letters, six or seven essyas, and two poems from his hands. Any help to preserve his legacy and make sure another pioneers life work will not be thrown out with the trash would be appreciated.
