Great lectures on MAS website

Came across MAS’s wonderful collection of downloadable lectures.

Two lecture series that looked particularly interesting: "Fiqh for Muslim Minorities" by Dr. Hisham Abdallah and "The History of Islamic Law" by Imam Suhaib Webb.

Their server is a bit slow (or perhaps it’s being hit hard at the moment), but it’ll load if you’re patient.

The catch phrase on the site is "You could listen for hours!" I intend to.

This is a wonderful service to the community. Kudos to MAS for doing this. I hope they keep up the good work and inspire other orgs to either digitize more of their talks, or start making more of their recordings available online for free.

Which reminds me. Does anyone have other suggestions for site with other downloadable lectures on Islam?

I’ve found interesting/engaging lectures at the Radical Middle Way site – http://www.radicalmiddleway.co.uk/ – and the Q News Podcasts – http://feeds.feedburner.com/-Q-NewsTheMuslimMagazine

Thanx for the links – Dr. Abdallah’s talk at the AMILA retreat in 2001 was one of the discussions that helped me to begin to deal with the trauma of 9/11.
