Speak

Speak October 15, 2013

I sit in your temple
Expectantly waiting for you to speak
I am met by silence
Quiet so still it’s deafening

I hear the pulsing of blood through this body
The settling of building materials in this space
But not your voice

Speak

Speak to me of things future and present
Uncover me and make me bare
Walk with me in the depths of my valleys
Show me the darkness that still resides in me and break it

Break me
Break silence
Break the bread of communion that is your Word

Speak

I sit in your temple
Expectantly waiting for you to offer words, Word
Something other than pregnant silence
Because this quiet is full
And I will not be moved until you

Speak
