Looking on the bright side

Last night, as I was looking at my household chore chart, I realized that it has been over a month since I have washed the children’s sheets. “Yuck,” I thought. And then I realized that this means that the children have not had an accident or a leaky diaper in over a month, and I thought, “Great!” Looking on the bright side at its best ๐Ÿ™‚

My sister’s 1st-grade teacher taught her a song called “Stay on the Sunny Side,” and I can still remember her singing (over and over again) “stay on the sunny side, always on the sunny side, stay on the sunny side of life.” A good skill to have as a mother – stay on the sunny side of life.

How are you looking at the bright side this Monday morning? God bless!

Kat, this is totally capturing my Monday morning! My oldest daughter was up half the night barfing because she ate way, way too much chocolate brownie Carvel ice cream yesterday. (She has a very sensitive stomach.) We stopped at Carvel for a perfect summer Sunday evening family dessert to top off a wonderful family Sunday outing. So… sleeping 4 hours last night and cleaning up tons of vomit was just proof that a fabulous family Sunday was had by all! Sunny side right?

My guys is home with a fever on what was going to be his first day that he was getting bused to his afternoon kindergarten program. But truthfully we were away all weekend and I was panicked about what i was going to scrounge in the fridge to make up a snack AND a lunch for school. So, sunny side! We have crackers and ginger-ale and I’ll worry about lunch packing tomorrow, or whenever he is back at school ๐Ÿ™‚
