CBB Review – Angels All Around Us : A Sightseeing Guide to the Spiritual World

angels_all_around_usI must admit when I first picked up Angels All Around Us: A Sightseeing Guide to the Invisible World I was a bit apprehensive but the author really has delivered an excellent read. Anthony DeStefano states that the book is an attempt to render the spiritual world more clearly to the reader. In the first chapter he made the following observation. That once you more familiar with the invisible realities around you will find the following to be true.

“1) It will be easier for you to act in sync with your moral beliefs; 2) your life will be much fuller, richer, and more exciting than you ever imagined possible; and 3) no amount of suffering will ever be able to destroy the profound inner sense of peace you’ll experience on a daily basis.”

What impressed me the most about this book was the author backed everything up with solid theology, biblical scholarship and the teaching of the Church. This was not some hokey book about vampires or the Force. To prove this you simply have to turn to the back of the book. There you will find two things. 206 references to scripture and a huge bibliography with some of the best Catholic books in print. These titles include authors like G.K. Chesterton, Thomas Aquinas, Joseph Ratzinger (Pope Benedict), Pope John Paul II, and C.S. Lewis to name a few.

After reading this book I can definitely make the following observation. I now have a much greater awareness of the spiritual world surrounding all of us. Sit in silence and close your eyes and feel the angels around you. They are there. You only need to make your senses aware of their presence. I would have to agree that upon finishing this book the three points the author made, that I noted above, were all accomplished. Anthony DeStefano had a mission when writing this book and he met it. I highly recommend this book and hope you all join me in thanking Mr. DeStefano for this treasure.

I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review.
