Wisdom Wednesday…fast, revive and redevelop

Wisdom Wednesday…fast, revive and redevelop August 1, 2012

Ramadan, the fasting month for Muslims worldwide.  A time where individuals reflect on reading Quran, internalize its meanings and try our best to implement its teachings into belief, purpose and a just social cause. Holding the rope of faith that is given to each individual, then at sunset breaking of the fast; to experience a feeling of appreciation. After 12 or 14 hours of fasting; a reality sets in and it tells you something like, “life is more precious than before…be thankful”

What does it all Mean?

Each day, the fast initiates a hunger seeking comfort, upon breaking we find that comfort and it’s associated with a fresh awareness. For some there is no time for idle talk, but reflections are pondered during every bite and drink. Thoughtful ponders come to mind such as… How can I revive my faith, why have I wasted time both social and professionally, everyone is married but me… duh

Some serious and simple thoughts all occur. Then after completing the Sunset Prayer (Mahgrib Salat), a sense for reviving life occupies the mind and body. We have a revival of courage, a feeling to try harder for what absolutely matters. Begin applying the faith (Iman) we have read into our life. Feeling like a wonder twin, activating our super powers! The fast can have an extraordinary effect, a feeling we attempt to stretch out until the sighting of the next Ramadan. It is a constant stage of redevelopment.

Report to our Destiny!

Chapter 3 Verse 103 “…hold fast all together, by the rope which Allah (stretches out for you), and be not divided Among yourselves; and remember with gratitude Allah’s Favor on you…” (reading the entire verse, really stimulates a truth within)

Islam is one religion, with many cultures. Thin lines dividing talented people from embracing one one community culture. We have an opportunity to redevelop and become apart of the Ansaar lineage. Create a new voice, here in the West. During daylight fasting hours our appetite triggers the humility levels to function more sincerely. Being humble is the #1 quality that counteracts, arrogance (kibr) in the heart

“I pray … your fast is easy, we revive and redevelop our Ansaari nature for community and bond.”

Today (Tuesday) I broke fast with a big cup of ice water, turkey roll-ups and cantaloupe with a bowl of noodles, it was good and I’m thankful for the meal….

Wisdom Wednesday are reminders for social conversations – the sharing of honest opinions and wise ideals. All of us have a value worth sharing; it may motivate another to stop, continue and/or begin a certain process in our personal growth or social development.
