Dec. 26: A Little Thank-You

Dec. 26: A Little Thank-You December 26, 2012

In today’s paper-less society, it’s no small wonder that the art of writing thank-you notes has fallen to the wayside. Yet according to CBS News correspondent Steve Hartman, those who do take the time to write notes of gratitude consequently wind up feeling more grateful themselves.

It was ultimately 60 Minutes correspondent Byron Pitts who convinced Hartman to try his hand at writing the forgotten “thank you.”  Pitts constantly pens thank-you letters to this day and continues to believe in the power of the printed note.

“There’s something nice about the handwritten word, that people can feel it, touch it, you know?” Pitts told the doubtful Hartman.

When Hartman wrote his first thank-you note to his father-in-law, it was greatly appreciated.

A little thank-you note can go a long way in today’s fast-paced world. Remember, the Lord rejoices in the gratitude of all His earthly children.

Give thanks to the Lord for his steadfast love endures forever.  (2 Chronicles 20:21)

Lord, may we remember to thank those who fill our lives with joy and, above all, continually praise Your holy  name.
