We DO, as a matter of fact, deserve better.

An effective video response to the Obama SuperPAC’s truly appalling ad trying to exploit a woman’s death from cancer as a weapon against Mitt Romney.

I met Patterson in Canada when I was a kid at a showing of the film from which this famous photo is taken.

He was a true believer, to be sure.

Thoughts in response to Harry Reid’s silly statement:
    1. In his disclosures of his 2010 and 2011 taxes, Romney paid millions of dollars in Federal taxes, so saying he did not pay income taxes for ten years is patently false, and there is no reason to think the previous 8 years are substantially different.
    2. Since there has been no IRS enforcement action against Romney over taxes, he is entitled to a presumption of innocence, so that he did nothing illegal in his tax payments. If he did nothing illegal, then what is there to complain about? Or does Reid buy into the Obama communust view that your income is not your own property, but is given by government and can be taken back at the government’s pleasure. “You didn’t earn that.”
    3. If someone who has legitimate access to Romney’s income tax returns talked to Reid, it was a breach of a duty of confidentiality that is unprofessional and dishonest from a private individual, and a frightening abuse of government power if from an official of the IRS. Combined with statements from other Obama Administration officers claiming Romney is at risk of prosecution for his SEC filings when he was leading the 2002 Olympics, Obama has become a confirmed threat against the civil liberties of Americans. He is an incipient tyrant who feels no duty to obey laws he does not like.
