“Priesthood: The Power of Godliness”

“The Restoration of the Aaronic Priesthood,”
by Ken Corbett

It gives me great pleasure to announce that The Interpreter Foundation has just posted its twenty-ninth (29th) scripture roundtable, this one concentrating on Lesson 25 in the 2013 Doctrine and Covenants and Church History lesson manual, which is entitled “Priesthood: The Power of Godliness.”  Ben McGuire, Mike Parker, Dan Peterson, and Andrew Smith discuss the historical background to Doctrine and Covenants 121; the meaning of the terms “power,” “keys,” and “authority” in connection with priesthood; the “oath and covenant of the priesthood”; and the historical development of the Aaronic and Melchizedek priesthood offices and organization that we see in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints today.

It gives me special pleasure to make this announcement because I just now read a note from a critic who seems to be living in an alternate reality; he believes that The Interpreter Foundation is moribund, and that those associated with it have been silenced.
