Some out there may be unaware of the official statement on recent judicial developments regarding same-sex marriage that was issued on Friday by the leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The LDS Church wrote: “While these matters will continue to evolve, we affirm that those who avail themselves of laws or court rulings authorizing same-sex marriage should not be treated disrespectfully. The gospel of Jesus Christ teaches us to love and treat all people with kindness and civility—even when we disagree.”

    Amen. Amen and Amen!

Is that the only portion you agree with?

        No.

Of course not. As a faithful member of the Church, you of course fully endorse, without reservation or qualification, the following portion as well:

“Changes in the civil law do not, indeed cannot, change the moral law that God has established. God expects us to uphold and keep His commandments regardless of divergent opinions or trends in society. His law of chastity is clear: sexual relations are proper only between a man and a woman who are legally and lawfully wedded as husband and wife.”

Listen kiwi57, if I’ve offended you in any way I would like to apologize. I’m growing weary of your personal attacks and you constantly questioning my faithfulness. If you want to discuss the issues I’m always ready and willing.

Again, we should be able to discuss a wide variety of topics in a professional, kind, respectful and civil manner. No need at all for any personal attacks. If I’ve given you offense, I
            apologize.

I would like to extend the olive branch so we can start over, kiwi57.

            Take care, friend.
