Luke 16:10-12

“He who is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much; and he who is dishonest in a very little is dishonest also in much.  If then you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will entrust to you the true riches?  And if you have not been faithful in that which is another’s, who will give you that which is your own?”

I would argue that this passage gets to the very heart, in one sense, of what our mortal probation — or testing period — is about:  We are given stewardship over resources, and even over children and spouses, to see how we will behave in those assignments.  If we do well, we will receive them (and much, much besides) forever.  If we don’t, we will have failed the test, and we won’t be trusted afterwards.

Simple.  Straightforward.
