“Peter, Paul, and the Popes of Rome”
Both Peter and Paul died in Rome. Christians were persecuted to the death there. How, then, did Rome become the capital of western Christianity? Where did the institution of the papacy come from? Is St. Peter’s Basilica really built over the apostle’s tomb? I’ll try to set out what happened in the famous “Eternal City” in those crucial early years after the close of the New Testament, and to indicate some of the exciting things to be seen there.
The lecture will be held in the Cruise Lady Event Center located at 9118 S. Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah (behind the Cruise Lady office). The lecture, with questions and answers, will be held roughly from 7-9pm. Due to limited seating, reservations are required, and there is a small charge.
