Quote of the day

Or maybe, word of the day:

“It was simply inconceivable — in the Wallace Shawn sense of the word — that Corapi’s accuser was telling the truth.”

Max Lindenman, with his take on the Corapi news.

  1. Paul Stokell says:

    Quick! Is Corapi a Sicilian?

  2. Regardless of the outcome, what was the most “inconceivable”, IMO, was the lack of benignity toward Father Corapi from many in the Catholic Blogosphere.

Sinner or saint, all priests, rightly or wrongly accused, deserve at least the benefit of the doubt, and always of course, our prayers.

  3. I like father Corapi, his preaching is robust and orthodox. He deserves the benefit of the doubt. But his appearance and demeanor changed, from simple habit and humility to a sharp black priest garb, tinted goatee and an air of… Arrogance? There was a transformation in the man, perhaps harking back to his days as a “playboy”. This does not mean he is guilty of what he is accused at all, just an observation.

  4. I didn’t get the reference until you posted this…thanks!

  5. Thank you for the laugh, Paul! And now that you mention it–he is, on his father’s side.
