Mass on a mountain

From the Diocese of Des Moines Facebook page:

Thanks to Mercy Medical Center for providing this image from Africa, taken of Msgr. Frank Bognanno celebrating Mass on the eve of the Epiphany. The service, attended by Catholics, Christians, Jews and Muslims, was for a group of cancer survivors and caregivers, including Msgr. Bognanno, who are climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Pretty cool.  Anyone know more??

  1. Msr Frank Bognanno is with a group of 40 cancer survivors. He is the pastor of my parish, Christ the King in Des Moines Iowa. Msr is 71 years old. It is his doctor that formed the group above and beyond cancer and they are climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro. Follow them on Facebook!
    God Bless! LeAnn

  2. The next person to contradict us (or to contradict the Church) may actually be at an early stage of his own interior journey home.

    I hope it’s that. Sigh.

  3. The service, attended by Catholics, Christians, Jews and Muslims,

So, the Diocese of Des Moines doesn’t consider Catholics to be Christians?
