    She opens to me like a rose
    filling the room with her fragrance
    we kiss, embrace, are one,
    in love, in Him,
    three in one, holy trinity,
    God and me and Karen,
    the wife of my youth.

    Wise words indeed. Sometimes we just simply say too much and accomplish nothing. To be expected to make someone happy every minute of every day is an unrealistic expectation and extremely unfair for either party. A marriage is a long term commitment and is filled with peaks and valleys. It is most comforting to know that no matter the difficulty we are here to stay.

    Frank, I’m heartily sorry, Pal. I came back because you finally changed the subject to something beautiful like you started out doing on this blog. But I’m afraid I’m ashamed of all the rest of us. We let you down, and we’re supposed to an audience of believers for the most part. If you write about abortion or politics or war or, even, Hell, itself, you get scores, if not hundreds, of comments. But ask us to share in a conversation with you about love, sex, marriage, etc., and you get two measly responses. I gave it my best, Friend, I really did, and ol’ William, here, his comment is a little insipid, sure, but at least he tried. Go back to doing whatever gets you some mammon, Frank. I’ll never criticize you for it again. And may God have mercy on our souls!

    One last one for you & Genie and me & Karen
    by William Butler Yeats.

    How many loved your moments of glad grace,
    Or loved your beauty with love false or true;
    But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,
    And loved the sorrows of your changing face.
