Everlasting Love

the Lord appeared to him from far away.

I have loved you with an everlasting love;

therefore, I have continued to extend faithful love to you.

Jeremiah 31:3

God tells His people from far away that He has loved them with an “everlasting love.” He also explains that He continues to extend faithful love.

We learn two principles about God’s love and how God operates in His love. First, God’s love is everlasting. God’s love existed before you and I were created. Second, God continues to operate out of that love. His love is faithful in the sense that it is reliable. It is reliable and it is continuous. Just like a great diesel engine, it operates and it continues to operate faithfully. God’s love is like that. It continues.

God loved me before I was born, before I was created, even before Adam was created. God’s love continues, even when He seems to be far away. God’s love continues to be reliable even today.

Prayer: God, I need to remind myself of Your everlasting love. I thank you that You are faithful with Your love towards me. No matter how far away You are, I can rest knowing that You still love me.
