In four parts, Raindrops of Love For a Thirsty World encourages readers to undertake self-examination in a way that encourages them to fall back in love with themselves and learn to practice healthy self-discipline, self-awareness, and self-love.

Workman exhorts readers are exhorted to manifest their greatest gifts in the world, which is exactly what the author decided to do when she changed the direction of her own life. This personal transformation and connection to the limitless love of LIFE is the key to a rewarding, meaningful life.

Workman claims that one can realize all these possibilities because of LIFE, an energy similar to the Force in Star Wars (which I reviewed). Workman defines this spiritual energy in similar terms as Yoda – that it surrounds us and works through us and that we as humans have the capacity to use this LIFE force for good.

The Bible speaks about life in different terms. Life and love come from God. Jesus gives life (John 10:10). God is love (1 John 4:8). God gives Christians the responsibility of loving Him and loving others (Matthew 22:37-40). The only way one can love others properly is with an exclusive relationship with Jesus Christ (John 3:16, John 14:6). The power to love others comes through the power of the. Holy Spirit.

I enjoyed reading Workman’s perspective on life, especially her testimony. Yet, as a Christian, and especially as an Evangelical, and concerned with her syncretic approach to faith. I believe that without God (not just a life force, but a personal, transcendent God who interacts with His creation), one cannot live life to the fullest. One needs the help of a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. One can only learn to truly love others when one has experienced the love of God. God teaches us how to properly love. We are not perfect, but God wishes to love us and teach us how to love (Deuteronomy 7:7-9). He is the best Source for learning how to live a life of love.
