Venerate the Cross with Your Life

Do you ever have one of those days you wish you could bottle? Yesterday was one of those days for me.

But I couldn’t bottle it. And I put in a request but there was no extension. Those requests for 25-hour days and 35-day months just never do seem to get granted. The takeaway message was the message of the day, the message of Good Friday: Venerate the Cross with your life.

Maybe you focused on the Cross yesterday. Maybe not. Regardless, begin now! Make it a daily posture! Because never mind the fact we don’t get the 25th hour, there may not even be 24 hours left in our lives! Venerate the Cross with your life. Take up your Cross, doing so willingly and lovingly.

Christ, in His last words, faced that alone feeling, but lifts us up to where He was even hanging on the Cross: Utterly confident the Father had his back. That same confidence in our lives will make all the difference.

Let us pray for it in one another today and everyday.

April 10th: I came upon some words this morning before praying the Liturgy of the Hours and they really touched me, as do your words, Kathryn: Prostrate yourself low before the Cross and kiss His bleeding feet…now, we rejoice that He is dead no longer but alive and yet…there is still that image of His bleeding feet and the urge to bend low before Him and kiss those feet that bleed, that traveled many, many miles while He was walking among us, in search of the lost and broken-hearted…and He calls us still to follow in His footsteps along the way He Himself has chosen for us…let us start by bending low and kissing those feet that bled as He walked among the briars and brambles in search for us…each of us, all of us…

Hmm it appears like your site ate my first comment (it was super long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I wrote and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog writer but I’m still new to everything. Do you have any tips and hints for beginner blog writers? I’d certainly appreciate it.

I thought the title, “Venerate the Cross with Your Life” was a bit misleading. However, the content did not disappoint!
