Extremely Good News

Fr. Robert Barron has finally been noticed by the MSM and gone into their Rolodex.  Well done, NBC!  For the first time in ages, I felt an uptick in the MSM reportage IQ on the Catholic Church.

Lets hope and pray he doesn’t self-destruct under all the media attention. We’ve seen this happen too many times before.

I don’t think this likely. Unlike a number of famous priests, he has an actual job doing real work: running Mundelein. This is just a side gig–and one that will make NBC and its viewers smarter, not him stupider.

Been praying for him anyway ever since I heard it. Can’t be too careful.

Don’t publicize this too much Mark, else eventually enough people will notice and complain about the “religious IQ 1%” whenever he is in a newsroom. :)

Also, especially if one like his work, let’s remember to pray for Fr. Barron and his ilk. The Devil hates celebrity priests, but he also licks his chops at them.

Don’t forget that NBC also hired George Weigel and the extremely impressive but largely unknown Elizabeth Lev. They deserve to be watched just to be rewarded for this outstanding team they’ve assembled. We really have come a long way, even in 8 years!

This is huge. Fr. Barron has an extraordinary gift for presenting the faith to the secular culture. The best I’ve seen in my lifetime.

Yes agreed, this is very good. Let’s hope it lasts and grows.
