The Intrepid Jimmy Akin Has a New Book

It’s all about the names of the various Popes and their extremely interesting history. Give that we have just elected the very first Francis (and recently had the very first and second John Pauls), I recommend checking it out! I’m particularly thrilled that there was a Pope Lando, presumably the bishop of Cloud City on Bespin.

Anyway, check it out! You can get your copy here, where you can link to the Kindle, Nook, and Apple iBooks versions, as well as get more info.

I wonder if there’s a chapter on St. Hilarious.

Would anyone happen to know which pope was the last one to take (or have) a new name? Not counting John Paul I; I know the two-name combo thing was technically “new” but neither name was new in itself. There had been 23 Pope John’s and six Pope Pauls. No, I’m just wondering when was the last time a really new name was added to the list of popes, the way “Francis” has just been added.

I do believe it was Pope Lando (913-914).
