    Thanks for posting this story! Makes me glad I never aspired to Big Time Journalism and instead, stuck to small-town and diocesan weeklies and stringing for a medium-sized daily my entire career. I coulda made a lot more money the other way — you DON’T get rich working in small town/rural markets — but it just wasn’t me. When you write about people you actually have to rub shoulders with in real life at the grocery store, church, high school basketball games, etc., it gives you a different perspective.
