A particular subculture in the Church is just endlessly baffled… November 17, 2016

by Amoris Laetetia.  What’s impressive is that the same people confused by this are also unclear what the words “We’re the platform for the alt-right” could possibly mean when spoken by Trump’s new Chief Strategist, Steve Bannon. They are likewise endlessly puzzled by the super-fine nuances of the Alt Right’s self-definition “dedicated to the heritage, identity, and future of European people in the United States.” It’s all sooooooooo confusing–like the definition of “torture” they struggled with for ten years while the people they were defending were torturing and murdering prisoners.

What’s the common denominator?  Not Pope Francis.  On the contrary, it appears to be a reading comprehension problem, not a lack of clarity problem, on the part of Trump adulating, Francis-loathing conservatives.  You know, the ones who take seriously Bannon’s inflammatory anti-Catholic garbage about Marxists running the Vatican and the Church only caring about refugees for their money.

No doubt those Catholics who, just a few months ago were saying Trump was the “lesser evil” will, now that Hillary is out of the way, now focus their attention on the embrace of an anti-Catholic, alt Right honcho by Trump.  Surely, they will not, now that the threat of Hillary is past, continue to excuse and defend this egregious bigotry.

Right?

Certainly they don’t support Trump and prefer him to the teaching of the Holy Father?

Right?
