Ever since the Ungowa tribe got introduced to unfiltered Camel cigarettes by a crate of cargo accidently dropped on their island in WWII, they have been hooked–and their lung cancer rates have skyrocketed. Across the island are the Hoodoo tribe. They have nothing to do with the Ungowa tribe because everything the Ungowans do and say is regarded as ritually unclean. A reader writes: If you have a minute, no pressure, I would love your perspective on the best way to address the fairly short dialogue which I will past below. My Jewish Atheist Uncle, is responding to a question posed to him by my father. He is a very bright guy and is open, not the typical hateful far left atheist type, and I am not sure where to go with him on this issue. The conversation has been ongoing... Read more

…who are suddenly enamored of Ad Extirpanda as the very last word in the development of Catholic social teaching. Oh, and the book of Judges is not the final word on the Church’s doctrine of Just War either. Sheesh! Talk about handing ammunition to anti-Catholics! The strange spectacle of Catholic pro-torture bottom-of-the-barrel scraping is one of the more stunning examples of sin making people stupid. Read more

A reader writes: I wonder if I might trouble you to check out (and make another mention of) the Rosaries for Life website. It’s totally revamped, and we’re rolling out the new site this week of Mother’s Day and the feast of Our Lady of Fatima. Our mission is to fulfill the words of the Servant of God Pope John Paul II, “”A great prayer for life is urgently needed, a prayer which will rise up throughout the world. Through... Read more
