This weekend fifteen people gathered at the Boundless Way Temple in Worcester, MA, for the first, we expect annual gathering of the folk responsible for the spiritual direction of Boundless Way Zen. The gathering included all four of our senior guiding teachers, the three Dharma holders, people who have received the first of the two steps in Dharma transmission as we preserve it within our sangha, and the eight senior Dharma teachers, those mature practitioners who have accepted the responsiblities of giving talks, and for us most importantly giving practice interviews. We sat together a lot. But, mostly we were organized as a conversation where we explored aspects of zazen, shikantaza, koan introspection as well as the nature of awakening within the Zen tradition. Also, we explored boundaries and relationships. We touched on hurt. We opened to aspects of joy. There were tears. And there was lots of laughter.
I feel so honored to be a part of this work.
And so grateful for these co-workers in the garden of healing.
