That was helpful – thank you. I am reminided of the passage “be transromed by the reneving of your mind”. And then the sense of in earlier times with wals with God saying what do you want me to do and now it being a case of God saying I turst you to know what to do. Tremedous grace and love. And what vulnerablity does God have with us. I’m in awe.

You are so right. Jesus is still there, but our faith evaporates in favor of other, more exciting, more generous words.

Had to think about this one for awhile. The Jesus were you had to get permission from the likes of Drisscoll, Robertson, Phelps, Piper etc. before you could walk with him, is gone.

This speaks to me like the songs of Aimee Mann: I know I’m not alone in my thoughts, musings, fears and hopes. I’ve had thoughts like this over the last 4 years. Thanks for drawing your thoughts and reaching out to us.

BTW: Aimee Mann is a secular artist who sings songs about relationships, intrapersonal monologues and social expectations and ideals. If you haven’t heard her stuff, I think you’d like her, David.
