changing in spite of resistance

“PLEASE DON’T CHANGE” (drawing by nakedpastor David Hayward)

The resistance to change is enormous and manifold. It comes from all kinds of directions: family, friends, peers, life, even our own hearts.

It requires an incredible amount of decision and courage, especially when we know change is urgent.

Perhaps it is coming out in whatever way… sexually or theologically. Whatever the case, our inner change must eventually manifest itself outwardly.

Then a particular fearlessness is necessary.

At The Lasting Supper we provide a safe place for you to explore, discover and exercise your own change. I warmly invite you.

It is often the case that the actual change sometimes only takes one small step (or action) but the prior cognitive pre-requisites can sometimes seem like moving mountains.

  • Cecilia Davidson

Change in method endangers the “orthodoxy.”

  • Fiona Ogilvie

    Awesome!

I love that depiction….it is creepy which illustrate the fear the person has of change yet moving forward with it and the tenacity and desperation of the old ways which continue to try and hold us back.

It is definately hard to live the Christian life with the secular world trying to hold you back. It is easy to become entangled in materialism. Wanting the latest IPhone or the newest TV while others can’t afford medical care.
Christ will help you escape the chains of conformity.

It’s easier if you realize that the material and the spiritual don’t have to be separated.
